What is Unvibe?
Unvibe is a desktop AI learning layer for code. It lives beside your editor: select code, choose a depth, and get an explanation that stays open while you work. It also helps you save notes, track concepts, and turn real projects into study material. It is not a course platform or another chat window.
Is Unvibe a code generator?
No. Unvibe does not write features for you. AI agents can write the code; Unvibe helps you understand, review, and remember it.
Which applications will it support?
The Mac app is designed to work beside tools you already use, including Cursor, VS Code, GitHub, Claude Code, Terminal, and other editors where you can select code. Some integrations are still planned or in development and are labeled that way on the site.
What code is sent to AI providers?
Unvibe is not an offline processor. When you request an explanation, the selected code and limited surrounding context you approve are sent to the configured cloud AI provider. Secrets are scanned on your machine first, and default exclusions cover .env files, keys, node_modules, and build output. Unvibe does not crawl or upload your whole repository.
How do I get the product?
The private beta is live for Apple silicon Mac and Windows x64. 30 AI explanations, then it stops. Copy the install command on unvibe.site. For partnerships, contact preston@unvibe.site.
Is Windows supported?
Yes, as a private beta. Same 30 AI explanations as Mac. Install from PowerShell with irm https://unvibe.site/install.ps1 | iex. The app is unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn. Press Ctrl+U in your editor to explain selected code.
What is Unvibe Teams?
Unvibe Teams is the GitHub-connected engineering knowledge layer in development: shared context, PR and repository understanding, knowledge freshness, onboarding, and transparent knowledge-risk signals. Teams is a founding pilot at $15 per seat per month. Roadmap capabilities are labeled Pilot or Planned until they ship.
